This role functions as a key financial support partner to the Rector, Treasurer, Wardens, Finance and Endowment Committees, and church volunteers. This position is grounded in the mission and values of St. David's and supports the operational health of ministries, programs, and property. Commitment to inclusive practices and organizational values Key Responsibilities Full-Charge Bookkeeping & Financial Management Maintain all bookkeeping using Realm accounting system Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable (pledge tracking and contributions) Record and allocate all financial transactions accurately Maintain general ledger and balance sheet integrity Reconcile all bank accounts and financial statements Ensure compliance with church accounting standards and Manual of Business Methods in Church Affairs Cash Receipts & Disbursements Enter and process invoices, ensuring proper fund allocation Prepare checks for authorized signers Coordinate weekly deposits with volunteers Record deposits and perform cash reconciliations Manage stock transfers as needed Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Verify quarterly payroll reporting accuracy Ensure accurate year-end W-2 preparation and reporting Financial Reporting Prepare monthly financial statements including: Statement of Financial Position Summary of Restricted Accounts Statement of Mission Provide monthly reports to Treasurer, Finance Committee, and Endowment Chair Assist with Parochial Report preparation Support annual audit or reporting requirements as needed Pledge & Stewardship Management Maintain donor and pledge records accurately Apply contributions to correct funds and accounts Generate quarterly pledge statements and annual giving reports Provide quarterly pledge analysis to Rector Support stewardship and annual pledge campaign processes Budget & Annual Planning Support Assist in annual budget development Prepare financial materials for Annual Meeting in collaboration with leadership Provide financial analysis as requested Collaboration & Leadership Support Work closely with Rector, Treasurer, Wardens, Finance and Endowment Committees Participate in finance meetings and staff collaboration Maintain strong communication with church leadership and volunteers Follow all church policies including Safe Church, data security, and access policies Maintain required Safe Church training and background checks Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping (AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting) Payroll experience (ADP preferred) Experience with accounting systems (Realm experience a plus) Strong attention to detail and confidentiality Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication and collaboration skills Additional Information In-person position Part-time (15-20 hours per week) Must comply with Safe Church training and background check requirements Works in accordance with Episcopal Church financial and governance standards Why This Role Matters This position directly supports the ministries, stewardship, and operational health of St. David's Episcopal Church.
