Finance Manager

Description We are looking for a Finance Manager to support financial analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making for teams based in Kansas City, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can translate complex financial information into clear insights, strengthen reporting practices, and partner with stakeholders across finance, technology, and operations. The role will focus on building dependable reporting solutions, improving monthly analysis, and helping teams make informed business decisions through accurate and well-governed financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage interactive financial reports and dashboards using Power BI and large-scale data sources to support project and business unit performance tracking.
• Prepare recurring financial analyses, including monthly reporting and variance reviews, to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership.
• Partner with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to define reporting needs, align data requirements, and deliver practical analytical solutions.
• Document reporting procedures, data policies, and control practices to promote consistency, protect sensitive information, and support compliance expectations.
• Lead analytics-focused initiatives that improve reporting quality, streamline processes, and expand the use of financial data across the organization.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to team members by coaching staff on reporting tools, analytical methods, and financial data interpretation.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing for new or updated financial data models and reporting enhancements to confirm accuracy and usability.
• Create training resources and deliver sessions for project managers and business leaders on financial reporting tools, dashboards, and reporting standards. Requirements
• Proven experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, and reporting within a corporate or project-based environment.
• Strong expertise in Power BI, including dashboard creation, report design, and data visualization for business users.
• Hands-on experience working with data modeling, large datasets, and analytical tools to produce reliable financial insights.
• Ability to perform variance analysis and translate financial results into clear recommendations for leadership.
• Knowledge of data governance, documentation standards, and controls related to sensitive financial information.
• Experience collaborating across finance, technology, and operational teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data environments such as Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
• Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to explain technical or financial concepts to varied audiences.
