Job Description

Description We are looking for an Accounting Manager to guide daily accounting activities for a finance-focused organization. This hybrid opportunity is primarily remote and is well suited for a hands-on leader who can balance operational oversight with team development. The position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial processes, supporting staff performance, and ensuring high service standards for internal stakeholders and clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct core accounting operations, including month-end close activities, general ledger oversight, journal entry review, and account reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and oversee a team of accounts payable and accounts receivable staff, setting clear expectations and promoting accountability across daily workflows.
  • Monitor departmental output to ensure deadlines are met, work is completed accurately, and service levels remain consistent in a fast-moving environment.
  • Support the ongoing management of the accounting function by helping coordinate priorities, resolve workflow issues, and strengthen day-to-day execution.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for new team members while reinforcing process knowledge and encouraging continued growth across the department.
  • Work closely with leadership to refine procedures, establish effective training resources, and reinforce best practices that improve team performance.
  • Communicate clearly with internal departments and external clients to address questions, provide updates, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Assist with financial statement audit support and other reporting-related activities by preparing documentation and ensuring accounting records are well organized. Requirements
  • 2-5+ years of accounting experience with solid exposure to full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or leading a team within an accounting or finance environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with both colleagues and clients.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and work independently in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Strong attention to detail paired with sound judgment, analytical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Gmail; familiarity with accounting or property management systems is beneficial.
