Job Description
Job Overview A rapidly growing Commercial HVAC company with multiple locations is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. Your expertise will support our organization's growth by implementing best practices in financial management, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader with a strong foundation in corporate and non-profit accounting to make a significant impact. Responsibilities Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements. Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Oversee all functions of AR/AP. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and cash flow analysis. Oversee the various departments financials and provide weekly WIP reports for mechaincal projects. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and support internal and external audits through thorough documentation and testing. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk. Mentor, train, and supervise accounting staff to foster professional development and maintain high standards of performance. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and account analysis to uphold data integrity across all financial systems. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid strategic decision-making. Proficient in Quickbooks and willing to learn in-house service software (BuildOps) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Preferred candidate will have experience working in a Trade (HVAC a +) Extensive knowledge of technical accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, accrual accounting, and financial report writing. Hands-on experience with Quickbooks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring teams of accountants or finance professionals. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and audit preparation. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to Ownership and Operations Manager; experience in financial management is a plus.
