Overview Whistler Partners is partnering with a market-leading Corporate Latin America practice looking to add junior and mid-level associates in either the Bay Area or New York, with a strong preference for the Bay Area at the junior level. The group advises entrepreneurs, technology companies, emerging companies, venture capital funds, private equity investors, and investment funds on sophisticated Latin America and U.S. transactions. The work spans venture capital financings, growth equity and private equity investments, M&A, public offerings, and broader general corporate matters across Spanish-speaking Latin American markets and the U.S. Why this role? This is a strong opportunity for a corporate associate who wants to work at the center of the Latin America startup and venture ecosystem. The practice is one of the leading platforms for Latin America and U.S. venture capital and startup work, with a dynamic client base that includes founders building technology businesses across Latin America and investors backing those companies. Associates work closely with clients from day one, take on significant responsibility early, and play a key role on high-profile cross-border transactions. For someone with Spanish fluency and a real interest in emerging companies, venture capital, and Latin American markets, this is a highly differentiated corporate platform. Key Responsibilities Advise emerging companies, founders, entrepreneurs, venture capital funds, private equity investors, and investment funds on corporate transactions. Handle venture capital financings, growth equity and private equity investments, M&A, public offerings, and other strategic transactions. Work on sophisticated Latin America and U.S. matters across technology, startup, and investor-side transactions. Support general corporate matters for emerging companies and investment funds. Work directly with clients and senior attorneys on active, high-profile cross-border matters. Top Requirements Junior or mid-level corporate associate. JD class years of 2024-2025 or 2020-2021 preferred, or LLM degree. Experience with emerging companies, venture capital financings, M&A, private equity, investment funds, or general corporate matters. Prior large law firm corporate transactional experience preferred for mid-level candidates. Experience advising on Latin American transactions or prior work experience in Latin America strongly preferred. Fluency or strong working proficiency in Spanish required. Admission to the California and/or New York Bar required.
Compensation Junior associate salary range:
$225,000-$235,000.
Mid-level associate salary range:
$365,000-$390,000. TL;DR Leading Latin America startup and venture platform hiring junior and mid-level corporate associates in the Bay Area or New York. Spanish fluency required. Strong fit for associates with ECVC, M&A, PE, fund, or broader corporate transactional experience who want high-profile cross-border work, early client exposure, and a front-row seat to the Latin America and U.S. venture ecosystem.
