Job Description

JOB DUTIES
Manages and coordinates housing programs and resources. Provide outreach and assistance to persons applying to receive services. Coordinate the processing of all applications to ensure eligibility and maintain waiting lists. Communicates educates, and provides access to the services provided by
HUD/TPHA, IHP
departments. Verifies applicant information and determines eligibility for housing programs following approved policies and procedures. Receives and assists in filing of applications for housing assistance programs. Communicates application status and/or other matters via written correspondence within time frame as specified in policies and regulations. Maintains appropriate file maintenance of all requested and administered housing program services. Submits pertinent reports to agencies as required by HUD. Monitors and reviews home buyers' accounts. Coordinates information and referral services with tribal, local, state and federal agencies that provide family counseling and social service for the benefit of residents. Manages and oversees homeowners' accounting. Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable regarding payments. Logs and processes home payments. Processes late fees. Creates and sends monthly statements to residents and homeowners. Processes and pays property taxes. Reviews tenant ledgers and opening balances, monthly activities and ending balances for each tenant with accountant. Works with accountant on staff payroll. Prepares or reviews the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs basic information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed. Must participate in training provided annually to maintain program updates. Knowledge of HUD financial responsibilities and reporting. Knowledge of purchasing process. Knowledge of property management principles. Skill in account balancing. Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly. Ability to set up and maintain financial accounts and ledgers. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Three (3) experience in a business-related field. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. Experience with HUD preferred. HUD and NAHASDA Certifications preferred. Valid New Mexico driver's license, meet and maintain auto insurance requirements. Must be able to pass a drug test, physical examination and background check with NO felony convictions.
