Company Leadership Position Summary Freedom Air Services is an aircraft management and charter company seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to establish and lead the company's finance function. This position will serve as the primary accounting and financial administration professional within the organization and will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, billing, payroll administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance activities. The Accounting Manager will work closely with company leadership, aircraft owners, pilots, maintenance personnel, vendors, and outside accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and efficient business operations. As Freedom Air continues to grow, this individual will play a critical role in developing processes, systems, reporting structures, and financial controls that support the company's expansion. This position offers a unique opportunity to build and shape a new Finance department within a rapidly growing aviation company. Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Professional development opportunities Career advancement opportunities within a growing aviation company Primary Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Management Manage day-to-day accounting operations Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Perform account reconciliations and journal entries Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasting reports Coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, and auditors Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and invoice approvals Manage accounts receivable and collection activities Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Process employee expense reimbursements and company credit card reconciliations Aviation Billing & Owner Accounting Work with the Operations team to create and distribute aircraft owner statements Prepare, review, and distribute charter invoices Coordinate with the Maintenance Operations Manager on maintenance-related billing and cost tracking Reconcile flight activity, aircraft utilization, and billing records Ensure proper allocation of expenses among aircraft owners, charter activity, and company operations Prepare owner financial reports and account summaries Payroll & Tax Compliance Process payroll and maintain payroll records Coordinate payroll reporting and related tax filings Prepare and file sales and use tax returns Monitor multi-state tax compliance requirements Coordinate with outside tax advisors regarding regulatory and compliance matters Process Improvement & Administrative Support Develop and improve accounting procedures, controls, and workflows Assist in implementation and optimization of accounting and financial software systems Maintain organized financial and corporate records Support company growth initiatives, acquisitions, and special projects Assist leadership with financial analysis and reporting as requested Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Minimum of five years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting platforms Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, or service-based businesses Knowledge of sales tax compliance and multi-state operations Experience with aircraft management companies, Part 135 operators, charter operations, or aviation-related accounting preferred Experience developing accounting processes within a growing company Physical Requirements Primarily office-based work environment Ability to sit for extended periods while utilizing computer systems Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Additional Information Freedom Air Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values a diverse workforce.
