Job Description

Kyle Clarke with Robert Half of Buffalo is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core financial reporting activities for a well-established institution in Buffalo, New York. This role will lead critical accounting processes, deliver accurate and timely insights on financial performance, and help guide planning through thoughtful analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to support both recurring reporting needs and high-priority financial projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the month-end and year-end close process to ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
  • Prepare and review key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other materials used to evaluate organizational performance.
  • Analyze operating results by comparing budgets to actual performance and highlighting meaningful trends, risks, and variances.
  • Develop projections for revenue and expenses to support financial planning and informed business decisions.
  • Maintain oversight of the general ledger, ensuring journal entries and supporting documentation are properly recorded and reviewed.
  • Reconcile accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to preserve the integrity of financial records.
  • Coordinate audit preparation activities and provide documentation and support for financial statement audit requests.
  • Partner with leadership on special analyses and ad hoc reporting needs that contribute to strategic planning and operational decisions.
