COMPENSATION
$85,000 to $105,000 Plus Profit Sharing About the Company We are a premier, well-established precision manufacturing and metal finishing organization serving the commercial, aerospace, and defense sectors. Backed by the robust financial resources of a prominent, growing industrial group, we offer the stability of a larger corporation combined with the collaborative culture of an agile, localized team. We are experiencing steady growth and provide a stable, long-term career environment. Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Accounting Manager to completely own the day-to-day financial operations of our production facility in Utica, NY. In this role, you will manage the full accounting cycle—from leading the monthly close and financial reporting to overseeing internal controls, managing cash flow, and coordinating annual audits. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and capable of acting as a strategic financial partner to our plant operations leadership. Core Responsibilities
    Financial Accounting & Reporting:
Manage the general ledger, drive the month-end and year-end close processes, and prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow). Maintain a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast and serve as the primary liaison for annual audits.
      Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Oversee daily AP/AR functions, verify PO and non-PO invoice pricing, initiate vendor payments, and manage collections and credit limits.
        Payroll & Compliance:
Process biweekly payroll, manage HRIS updates (pay, benefits, 401k elections), and ensure compliance with GAAP and local/state/federal tax requirements.
          Inventory & Assets:
Oversee inventory accounting (physical and cycle counts) and maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation and capital expenditures (CapEx).
            Leadership & Team Collaboration:
Supervise, mentor, and develop the local on-site accounting staff while partnering directly with production and purchasing teams to support data-driven decision-making.
            Qualifications Required:
            • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
            • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with proven ownership of the full-cycle close process.
            • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and robust experience navigating ERP systems.
            • Strong, practical understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
            • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial metrics into actionable insights for non-financial operations managers. Preferred (Plus):
            • Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or job-shop environment.
            • Direct exposure to job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting, or inventory management.
            • Previous experience managing, supervising, or mentoring accounting staff.
            • Experience with JobPro, SyteLine, or similar manufacturing ERP systems.
            • Excitement or experience leading an upcoming system migration or integration project. What We Offer
            • Competitive base compensation commensurate with your experience.
            • Comprehensive health, medical, vision, dental, and retirement benefits package.
            • A stable, recession-resistant operating environment backed by a national parent company.
            • Direct access to local and corporate leadership with a highly collaborative, supportive team culture.
