Property Accounting Specialist Fully Onsite- Columbus, OH, 43215 Free parking is available on-site 6-month contract to hire
Pay:
20-30/hour (flexible with experience) About the Role We are a prominent family-owned property management company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist who will also support the ADP bi-weekly payroll. You will be an important accounting team member, reporting directly to the Controller. This is ideal for someone who thrives in a dedicated, highly efficient environment. If you are a goal-oriented person with strong problem solving skills this is the job for you! Key Responsibilities Property Accounting (85%) Maintain accurate records of general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries as need. Daily cash management - recording cash receipts and analyzing cash balances Reconcile bank accounts. Assist Property Managers and vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments. Assist Accounts Payable with coding invoices Handle month end closing process Assist the Controller with the year end audits Human Resources Support (15%) Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and orientation. Biweekly payroll - gather and input information Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies. Support payroll processing and benefits administration. Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries. Must Haves Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (open to associates degree) 2+ years of experience in property accounting or general accounting preferred, Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Prompt and dependable Preferred Qualifications Experience in real estate, property management accounting Familiarity with HR processes and employment regulations is a plu
