Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plant Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. Ideal candidate must have manufacturing experience. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of plant-level accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various accounting disciplines, including governmental, non-profit, and corporate accounting, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This position offers an opportunity to lead financial processes within a dynamic environment dedicated to operational excellence and fiscal integrity. Duties Oversee and coordinate all plant accounting activities, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable processing, and payroll administration. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and regulatory reporting requirements. Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity. Prepare detailed financial reports, analysis, and account reconciliations to support management decision-making. Implement and maintain robust internal controls for safeguarding assets and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of financial statements. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Utilize advanced accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Conduct technical accounting research related to complex transactions or new regulations affecting governmental or non-profit entities. Support budgeting processes by preparing forecasts and variance analyses to monitor financial performance against organizational goals. Experience Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting roles within manufacturing environments or similar industries. Demonstrated expertise in governmental accounting standards as well as non-profit accounting practices. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks relevant to public or non-profit organizations. Proven experience with financial report writing, account reconciliation procedures, and technical accounting research. Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and other financial management tools. Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles along with expertise in debits & credits management. Experience managing accounts payable/receivable functions and payroll processing within a complex organizational structure. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately and communicate findings clearly. Ability to lead process improvements that enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance standards.
