Director of Revenue Cycle - Patient Accounting | Tulsa, OK Direct Hire Opportunity Are you an experienced healthcare revenue cycle leader with a strong background in patient accounting and Epic systems? We are seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle - Patient Accounting to lead billing operations, accounts receivable management, payment posting, and revenue cycle optimization efforts for a growing healthcare organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the patient financial services team, driving operational excellence, improving cash flow, reducing accounts receivable days, and ensuring compliance with all billing and reimbursement regulations.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in hospital and professional billing and claims management. Extensive experience working within an Epic environment. Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, patient accounting, claims management, and accounts receivable processes. Proven leadership experience managing teams, developing staff, and improving performance. Experience monitoring and improving revenue cycle KPIs. Strong understanding of billing compliance, payer requirements, and reimbursement regulations. Advanced Microsoft 365 skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, physicians, operational teams, and external stakeholders. What You'll Do Direct daily patient accounting operations, including billing, payment posting, collections, and accounts receivable management. Ensure timely and accurate claim submission, remittance processing, and denial resolution. Lead and develop managers, supervisors, and patient accounting staff. Oversee Epic revenue cycle workflows and promote best practices across the department. Monitor key revenue cycle metrics including: Days in Accounts Receivable Clean Claim Rate First Pass Resolution Rate Denial Trends Cash Collections Utilize reporting and dashboards to identify opportunities for process improvement. Collaborate with IT, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, and operational leadership to resolve billing and reimbursement issues. Participate in system optimization initiatives, workflow enhancements, and revenue cycle improvement projects. Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, payer requirements, and internal controls. Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and return on investment.
