PM Job Duties:
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all patient accounting functions, including hospital and professional billing, claims management, payment posting, collections, and accounts receivable resolution. Direct end-to-end revenue cycle operations within Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) environments to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant claim submission and reimbursement. Develop and execute revenue cycle strategies that optimize cash flow, reduce days in accounts receivable, improve clean claim rates, and enhance overall financial performance. Oversee claim edit work queues, denial management, remittance processing, correspondence workflows, and reimbursement activities to maximize revenue recovery and minimize write-offs. Lead the implementation, optimization, and governance of Epic revenue cycle applications, including clearinghouse integrations, auto-posting configurations, batch posting processes, and workflow automation initiatives. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including Days in A/R, denial rates, charge lag, clean claim rate, first-pass resolution rate, cash collections, and payer reimbursement trends. Utilize Epic dashboards, workbench reports, and analytical tools to identify operational inefficiencies, drive process improvements, and support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with Revenue Integrity, Compliance, Information Technology, Clinical Operations, and Epic Application Support teams to resolve billing issues and improve revenue cycle performance. Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, federal and state billing requirements, payer contracts, HIPAA standards, and organizational policies governing patient financial services. Lead denial prevention and appeals strategies through root cause analysis, workflow redesign, staff education, and payer collaboration to improve reimbursement outcomes. Manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation while identifying technology investments and automation opportunities that deliver measurable return on investment (ROI). Direct and mentor managers, supervisors, and patient accounting staff through performance management, coaching, professional development, and succession planning initiatives. Establish and maintain staff competency programs focused on Epic workflows, billing regulations, patient communication standards, and revenue cycle best practices. Oversee patient financial communication strategies, including MyChart engagement, front-end collections processes, payment portals, and customer service initiatives to improve patient satisfaction. Participate in Epic upgrades, testing activities, system enhancements, and enterprise-wide governance committees to ensure successful implementation of new functionality and operational improvements. Foster strong relationships with physicians, executive leadership, finance teams, and external stakeholders to support organizational financial goals and revenue cycle excellence. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, improve billing accuracy, and support organizational growth objectives.
