Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This position is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a strong foundation in governmental or fund accounting, financial oversight, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead daily accounting operations, including supervision of accounting and administrative staff Review and approve requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and expenditures Ensure compliance with approved budgets, policies, and financial regulations Oversee financial reporting processes, including disbursements, procurement card activity, and cash controls Partner with internal stakeholders to support budget management and financial decision-making Prepare and deliver periodic financial reports to senior leadership and governing bodies Support pension administration and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements Conduct financial analyses, internal audits, and investigations as needed Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiencies Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls Represent the accounting function in financial reviews, budget discussions, and cross-functional meetings Serve in a leadership capacity during the absence of senior finance leadership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience Experience with audits, internal controls, and financial reporting Experience reviewing contracts, budgets, and financial documentation
