Korn Ferry is partnered with a real estate focused family office in their search for an experienced accounting manager. Position Overview The ideal candidate brings deep, practical experience from a commercial or multi-family real estate firm. You must possess the forensic accounting skills necessary to prepare systems to track loan balances and maturity schedules and standardize property notes into Institutional-grade financial reporting. This candidate will take full ownership of financial controlling, corporate-level budgeting, and corporate LLC compliance. Execute Financial Controlling & Reporting Oversee all day-to-day accounting, and financial controlling functions. Clean up, construct, and maintain accurate Trailing 12-Month (T-12) financial statements. Audit and regularize monthly rent rolls with commercial lease expiration schedules across a portfolio of retail and multifamily assets. Consolidate disparate property-level data into clean, presentation-ready family office portfolios. Drive Property Budgeting & Forecasting Build detailed annual property operating budgets, with an emphasis on budgeting for real estate tax, insurance premium, and capital reserves. Conduct forensic auditing to fix existing data gaps, including historical notes and misaligned loan amortization schedules. Oversee and refine cash flow distribution process providing full accountability to ownership. Monitor cash flow velocity to ensure timely debt service and distributions. Manage Compliance & Corporate Entities Oversee and file timely annual LLC renewals and statements of information across all property-holding entities. Act as the primary financial liaison for outside CPAs during annual tax preparation. Coordinate ad-hoc accounting tasks for the founding family's personal property footprints and alternative holdings. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly related field. Deep, hands-on experience working inside a commercial real estate firm or dedicated real estate family office. Prior management of both retail (triple-net/gross leases) and multifamily accounting structures. Advanced capability in specialized CRE software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, or RealPage) alongside expert-level Microsoft Excel skills. Proven track record of auditing disorganized books, correcting inaccurate loan balances, and converting raw property notes into institutional financials. Work Environment & Logistics Must be able to work onsite in Culver City Flexible hybrid schedule featuring dedicated (WFH) days combined with essential in-office collaboration.
