Full-Time Overview Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a well-established organization in the Bethesda, MD area seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role will oversee core operational accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, and team/process management. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience operating in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities Manage general ledger operations and ensure timely, accurate accounting results Review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules Supervise accounting staff and support team development Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes Partner with leadership on reporting, audit support, and operational improvements Assist with systems optimization and accounting process standardization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience preferred Strong experience with core operational accounting functions required CPA preferred Experience with large ERP systems strongly preferred, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint, or similar Strong analytical skills and ability to lead in a hands-on environment Excellent communication and organizational skills IND4
