Accounting Manager

Description We are partnering with a growing, operationally focused energy company to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team in the Austin area. This is a hybrid role offering a strong balance of in-office collaboration and flexibility. This position plays a key role in owning the close and reporting process across a multi-entity structure, while working cross-functionally with operational and technical teams to support decision-making. The role offers strong visibility, the ability to influence process improvements, and the opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The ideal candidate brings a mix of technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and a proactive, hands-on approach to leadership and problem solving. Key Responsibilities + Lead the monthly close process across multiple reporting units, ensuring timelines are met and deliverables are completed accurately + Prepare periodic financial reports along with supporting schedules and variance analysis + Review account reconciliations and intercompany activity to ensure completeness and accuracy + Strengthen internal reporting processes and documentation to support consistency and control + Support external audit activities, including coordinating requests and facilitating discussions + Partner with cross-functional teams to improve visibility into financial and operational performance + Review and provide guidance on work prepared by team members or shared service partners + Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency through systems and emerging tools Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field + 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience within a complex, asset-heavy or project-based environment + Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-business unit reporting structures + Background reviewing or mentoring the work of other accounting professionals + Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems + Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research technical accounting topics + Public accounting experience (audit) is a plus •What Stands Out + Hybrid schedule offering flexibility and in-person collaboration + Opportunity to work closely with leadership and operational teams + Exposure to a dynamic, growing business with evolving processes and systems + High-impact role with visibility across the organization Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
