Job Description
Position Summary The Manager of Accounting oversees and manages all financial accounting activities within an organization. This includes overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, coordinating and supervising the accounting team, and providing financial analysis and reporting to senior management. The Manager of Accounting plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the organization's financial health and integrity. Functions & Duties Manages the Corporate Accounting team for functions of the accounting process. Analyze P&L data to ensure proper accounting procedures and accuracy Prepare journal entries, financial reports, and tables. Review and update financial data reported in SAFRAN to Home Office Liaison between General Ledger team in Norfolk and General Ledger team at the Shared Service Center. Handle any inconsistencies related to duties brought to your attention. Train new employees and ensure training material/documentation is kept current Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for critical accounts and review all other reconciliations done by team Responsible for day-to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas Organize report preparation for yearly external audit and budget Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned by Management. Troubleshoot non-value-added processes within the department and seeks solutions. Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Proficient skills in Excel Ability to meet strict deadlines Manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong attention to detail Exuberant analytical and problem-solving skills Good interpersonal communication skills Qualifications Education Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred Master's Degree Work Experience General Experience 5-10 years Minimum of 5 years general accounting management experience required

$83,000.00 - $106,000.00 per year
