Job Description:
A mission-driven organization in the Brighton area is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help support the continued growth of the organization. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing all accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activity
  • Managing month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Assisting with annual budgeting and project budget preparation
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations
  • Supporting grant-funded program accounting, expense tracking, and audit reporting
  • Coordinating annual audits and partnering with external auditors
  • Supervising AP/AR staff and supporting operational/process improvements Ideal candidates will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within nonprofit or grant-funded environments
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct experience is a plus)
  • Exposure to Uniform Guidance and Single Audit/SEFA preparation preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Compensation ranges from $80K-$95K DOE plus comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement plan, PTO, and a hybrid work schedule.
