Job Description Accounting Supervisor (42663) Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for an Accounting Supervisor. This client is looking for someone with 5+ years of accounting experience and CPA. This role offers great benefits and great work-life balance. This role is remote with the opportunity to work in the Madison office. The salary range for this role is $90k-115k + bonus The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and career development initiatives. Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and productivity standards. Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure team effectiveness and professional growth. Allocate workload and resources to meet deadlines and organizational priorities. Financial Reporting & General Accounting Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions and account reconciliations. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analyses. Support management with financial reporting and accounting insights. Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit Management Maintain and strengthen internal control processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee compliance with SOX requirements and related documentation. Serve as a primary contact for internal and external auditors. Coordinate audit requests, testing activities, and remediation efforts as needed. Monitor accounting processes to identify and mitigate financial and operational risks. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence Evaluate accounting procedures and identify opportunities for increased efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Lead process improvement initiatives and support implementation of best practices. Assist with system enhancements, workflow automation, and reporting improvements. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures. Cross-Functional Support & Special Projects Partner with finance, operations, and business leaders to support organizational initiatives. Provide accounting guidance and technical expertise on business transactions. Participate in special projects, system implementations, and strategic initiatives as assigned. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities when needed. The Accounting Supervisor will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience. CPA license required. Strong financial analysis skills. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate team needs.
