Job Description

Role Description:
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Accounting Manager located at Somerset, NJ, with flexibility for some remote work. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to general accounting and financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, quarterly and year-end audit preparation and supporting budget and forecast activities. Work is achieved individually and through work groups.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
  • Produce monthly financial reports and provide analyses and explanations of balance sheet and income statement fluxes
  • Execute upload of quarterly financial results into DIVA. Support preparation and coordination of bi-annual budgets
  • Monitor slow move inventory working closely with Operations to minimize the impact of quarterly reserve calculations.
Coordinate the timely and accurate close of the various modules in the ERP system, i.e., Sales, AP, AR, Inventory, etc. Complete schedules or review and approve calculations used to develop manual journal entries, i.e., warranty liability percent and amount, slow move percent and amount, RMA reclass, monthly tax provision, etc. Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations. Manage the Avalara process to assure sales tax compliance in all states
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Year over year experience can be substituted for formal education requirement. Minimum of 5 years' experience managing an Accounting or Finance team required
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in Corporate Finance or Accounting role required.
Working knowledge of SAP Business One or similar ERP system required. Should be able to create logic and write SAP queries. Proficient expert in MS Office, specifically MS Excel required. Familiarity with MS Teams a plus. Moderate J-SOX or Sarbanes Oxley experience a plus.
