Job Overview Marpa Landscape Architecture is a renowned design and construction firm based in Boulder, CO. Our team delivers award-winning designs and provides full service construction management services in Colorado and across the United States. As a team, we value the connection and community that is created when we work together in our downtown Boulder office, though we appreciate the flexibility to work from home or remote part time as well. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager who is comfortable in the fast paced environment of design and construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable and accounts payable, reconciliation of bank and credit card statements, and assisting the team with related tasks such as client invoicing. This role requires a proactive individual who can maintain a productive work environment while effectively managing office resources. Our current needs are for a Bookkeeper though this role can grow to encompass more tasks that would fall under Office Manager. Duties Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, issue payments to subcontractors, follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payments. Set up new projects in internal systems and ensure all necessary documentation is in place. Maintain accurate project files, contracts, and billing records. Assist in monthly reconciliation of bank statements, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts. Assist in preparing cost reports and budget audits with the Project Managers. Track company expenses, fixed assets, licenses, certificates, insurance, and other financial records. Ensure compliance with insurance, permits, and lien waiver requirements by coordinating with vendors and the insurance broker. Assist in the development and implementation of office policies and procedures. Skills Proficient in accounting principles. Familiarity with financial software applications, particularly Quickbooks. Previous experience with a construction management software is a plus. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to ensuring accuracy in financial documentation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. 2-5 years of previous experience in a bookkeeping role is preferred.
