Job Description

Accounting Manager 📍 Hybrid | Contract‑to‑Hire 🕘 Monday-Thursday Onsite | Fridays Remote (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and strengthen the monthly account reconciliation process while supporting broader close activities and strategic accounting initiatives. This is a newly created role offering high visibility within a rapidly growing Accounting & Finance organization. Reporting to the Technical Accounting Director, this position operates as an individual contributor with responsibility for ownership, oversight, and continuous improvement of reconciliation and close processes, internal controls, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Oversee the monthly account reconciliation process, including preparation, review, research, analysis, and timely resolution of reconciling items Prepare and review account analyses to identify discrepancies and required adjustments Develop, maintain, and enforce account reconciliation policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and process documentation Provide training and guidance to the Accounting team on reconciliation processes and best practices Identify and implement system and process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control Support month‑end close, strategic accounting initiatives, and special projects Perform ad hoc analysis as needed to support leadership and business objectives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Advanced knowledge of: General ledger accounting Month‑end close processes Account & bank reconciliations Journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet analysis Audit support and reporting Strong understanding of US GAAP Advanced Excel skills Experience with Dynamics 365 (D365) and BlackLine Prior experience managing or leading accounting processes or teams Preferred Qualifications CPA designation (plus) 2+ years of public accounting or audit experience (plus) Experience writing and maintaining policies, SOPs, and internal controls Proven ability to document processes and ensure compliance Work Environment & Growth Opportunity Newly created role with significant ownership and visibility Contract‑to‑hire with defined conversion timelines Hybrid schedule: onsite Monday-Thursday, remote Fridays Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $49.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
