Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective policies and procedures in the areas of Accounting including but not limited to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The person in this position manages the AP and AR accounting operations and is critical to the integrity of transactional accounting data. This position is deeply involved in business systems development and improvement and ensures that systems are adequate to support the transactional and operational accounting needs of the business. This person works to build teamwork across boundaries, is a critical resource cross functionally to achieving long term strategies and is responsible for organizational performance. This person focuses cross functionally on the accounting implications between new interfaces and the ERP system and is responsible for ensuring adequate training documents exist for the Finance function for the ERP system. This person also works cross brand to ensure combined financial related projects meet business strategies. This is a hybrid role that requires three days per week in our Stratham, NH corporate office.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Management Manage and oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, to ensure accurate and timely allocation of customer payments, vendor payments, proper control procedures, and sound credit decisions to ensure the integrity of transactional data and cash flows. Hire, train, and develop staff to build a strong team and ensure that business needs continue to be met. Provide ongoing direction, support, and guidance to staff, while supporting the business with sound problem solving and decision making in accounting operations. Strategic Planning & Leadership Partner with Group and LSNA departments when directed to ensure Finance cross brand initiatives are aligned internally and cross brand while meeting all business strategies. Ensure all cross-brand finance related projects have the appropriate internal resources available and that project timelines fit internal timelines. Business Systems Development This person is the Finance Business Process Owner for all ongoing ERP platform development, works cross functionally with other brands and third-party resources to ensure the system is functioning as it should, and all upgrades are implemented appropriately. Liaison for all ongoing inquiries for Finance SAP tickets. Continuously review and implement new processes to effectively manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within the growing needs of the business. Research and present opportunities for automation and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with business partners to design and develop solutions to meet operational needs. Partner with IT department to initiate, develop and implement key operating systems, procedures, and processes for business groups, as required. Actively participate in developing business systems which will provide management with improved tools for managing the business. Manages and oversees several accounting systems, including but not limited to: Basware and High radius and SAP. Accounts Receivable & Credit Oversee cash application and collections activity. Ensure group credits customers and invoices, deductions are created properly, and cash receipts are reconciled appropriately. Oversee A/R and credit policy & documentation updates as needed to support the business. Oversee the ongoing evaluation of credit risks and provide decision support on credit holds. Ensure that limits are reviewed periodically and are adequate to support the business. Approve limit changes when appropriate and ensure that communication is made to all appropriate parties. Ensure that credit staff partners with sales department to review account status and credit risk as necessary to maintain healthy customer relations. Oversee the timely creation of Customer setups by the team to ensure master data accuracy. Accounts Payable & Payment Control Manage Accounts Payable function to ensure timely processing and payment of vendor liabilities. Manage the maintenance and support of AP Automated system and ensure that the system continues to meet the needs of the business. Oversee payment functions, including administration of Wells Fargo Payment Manager platform and SAP Payment Processing. Oversee the timely creation of Vendor setups by the team to ensure master data accuracy. Financial Integrity & Compliance Manage treasury, interest, and FX payments to Corporate and Lindt North America to ensure timely payment. Perform research and analysis into GL and other financial data sources to provide high-quality analysis and ad hoc reporting to support decision making. Ensure Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures and quarterly review are completed. Ensure all fraud attempts are properly reported to Group, and all cases are reviewed to ensure proper procedures are in place
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
5+ years of accounting experience required 2+ years of management experience required Mix of public & corporate accounting preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a strong team player Capable of working independently, juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Must have a high level of proficiency with Excel and Database knowledge a plus. Proficiency with ERP systems SAP experience highly preferred
Education:
BS in Accounting or related field required Master's degree required CPA or CMA highly preferred

Starting pay is determined using a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience as well as market conditions.
