Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary PBACO is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting, hold an active CPA license, and demonstrate the ability to lead financial reporting, ensure compliance, and drive process improvements in a remote work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, including month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies and procedures Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and regulatory reports Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices across the accounting function Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making Manage cash flow reporting and assist with treasury functions as needed Required Qualifications Active CPA license (required) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience Public accounting experience (required) Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA Experience in the insurance, healthcare, or professional services industry Experience with multi-entity or consolidated financial reporting Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP Prior supervisory or team leadership experience Familiarity with Florida state tax and regulatory requirements Located within the state of Florida
