  • 27778977 I'm partnering with one of the most consequential fintech companies in the country to find an Accounting Manager who wants real ownership — not a seat at a large corporate accounting table, but end-to-end responsibility for the monthly close, OPEX, and consolidation at a company that has already verified hundreds of millions of identities for the largest banks and fintech unicorns in the US.
This is a Forbes Fintech 50 company backed by $85M from Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, and NYCA Partners. They were the first company in the country to go live with eCBSV and have testified before the US House of Representatives on identity fraud. The product is real, the mission is serious, and the finance team reflects that standard. If you're a detail-oriented, hands-on accountant with startup experience who thrives when you own something, this is the role. What You'll Own End-to-end month-end close — you're accountable for the process, the timeline, and the outcome, with a goal of meaningfully improving current close velocity Full ownership of OPEX accounting across a ~178-person Series B company Consolidation and multi-entity accounting including foreign currency transactions and intercompany eliminations Managing and developing a team of 3 accounting staff based in India — driving alignment, quality, and communication across time zones Partnering directly with the VP of Finance on reporting, controls, process improvements, and systems optimization Building and improving accounting infrastructure — identifying gaps, tightening controls, and implementing scalable solutions that grow with the company What We're Looking For 5-8 years of accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close — you've run the process, not just supported it Startup experience is non-negotiable — you must have worked in a high-growth environment of 500 employees or fewer; pure large-company backgrounds without startup exposure are not a fit for this role Big Four or public accounting background combined with in-house startup experience is the ideal combination Strong US GAAP knowledge demonstrated through hands-on work, not just familiarity Experience with multi-entity consolidation, foreign currency accounting, and intercompany transactions Track record of improving accounting processes, systems, or controls — you don't just maintain the status quo, you make it better Some management or mentorship experience — you're comfortable developing junior staff and leading across geographies CPA license is a strong plus Based in the US and authorized to work without visa sponsorship — this role is open to H1B visa transfers Compensation & Benefits Component Details Base Salary $145,000
  • $165,000 Equity Competitive equity at a well-funded Series B Health Insurance Employer-paid for you and dependents 401(k) Company match PTO Flexible Home Office Stipend provided Work Model Fully remote (US-based) with quarterly in-person offsites This Role Is Not For You If… Your entire background is in large, slow-moving corporate environments — this team moves fast and expects the same from you You prefer to delegate and stay out of the details — this is a hands-on role where you're in the work, not above it You want full autonomy with minimal manager interaction — success here requires proactive communication and a strong partnership with the VP of Finance You're not based in or authorized to work in the US This is a rare opportunity to join a high-impact, well-capitalized fintech company at a stage where your work is visible, your contributions matter, and the infrastructure you build will scale with the company for years.
The VP of Finance is an engaged, collaborative leader and the company has the momentum, funding, and mission to make this one of the best accounting roles in fintech. 📧 Send your resume to cube24@cubemanagement.com This search is being conducted by Cube Management on behalf of our client.
