Description Expanding Insurance Agency is hiring an Accounting Manager with insurance agency experience. You will be managing a team of 3, so management experience is required. This is a hybrid position. First 90 days, it will be 4 days in the office and then after that, it will be 3 days in the office.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including tax prep, general ledger reconciliation, forecasting, regulatory reporting, journal entries, bank reconciliation, financial accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, auditing, and account analysis. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits. Provide guidance and support to accounting staff. Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships and AP and AR. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles. Insurance agency accounting knowledge is required. Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Proven leadership abilities with the ability to manage a team effectively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge in Applied Epic agency management system is a plus.
