Accounting Manager | VC Firm in Menlo Park

Description Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is partnering with a venture capital firm investing at the early-stage and seed level, currently deploying Fund VI, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its growing finance function. This is a highly visible role within a lean team, offering hands-on exposure to both fund and management company accounting while partnering closely with investment professionals. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across venture funds and related entities + Record journal entries, including allocations and proper expense classification across multiple entities + Track and calculate management fees, capital activity, and investor distributions + Perform reconciliations for cash, investments, and partner capital accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness + Maintain well-organized, audit-ready support for investment activity and fund reporting + Execute capital calls and distributions for limited partners with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness + Maintain and update investor records, including commitments, capital balances, and contact information + Partner with external auditors during annual audits and assist with information requests and deliverables + Handle sensitive financial and investor data with strict confidentiality + Work closely with investment professionals to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner + Support budgeting and cash flow forecasting across both funds and the management company + Identify opportunities to enhance internal processes, strengthen controls, and improve reporting workflows Requirements + 4-7+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting within venture capital, private equity, or asset management + Solid grasp of partnership accounting, capital allocations, and fund structures + Experience supporting audits and financial reporting cycles + Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail + Advanced Excel skills, QuickBooks Online Compensation & Benefits + $140-150k + Bonus + 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance + 3 weeks PTO + 1 day remote flexibility after onboarding/ramp-up period + Opportunity to work directly with GP and LPs.
