As an Associate Actuarial Director at UnitedHealth Group, you can do just that. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

Understand and interpret key drivers of health care trends Assist in the development and oversight of actuarial models and forecasts to support Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans Analyze large, complex financial, claims, utilization, and cost data sets to assess performance, risk, and opportunities Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for product and provider partners, finance leadership, and senior executives Provide actuarial expertise and strategic recommendations to support contract negotiations, performance tracking and risk management Work to improve and develop advanced analytic techniques and predictive models Mentor and develop a small team of actuarial students, helping them create unique solutions to complex problems The challenges here are significant. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field Credentialed Actuary (FSA or ASA) 5+ years of healthcare actuarial experience with increasing leadership responsibility Experience analyzing, modeling, and trending benefit and utilization data Experience developing and implementing new benefit strategies, programs, policies, or procedures Solid understanding of health care risk management principles and benefit operations Familiarity with health plan analytics, actuarial modeling techniques, and interpretation of plan experience data Advanced proficiency with data tools such as Excel/SAS/SQL/Power BI Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and opportunities within benefit programs and drive process improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience preparing and conducting data analysis for Medicare Advantage bid submissions Leadership experience managing projects, mentoring team members, and developing training or shared resources Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems efficiently Proven solid presentation and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build relationships •All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
