Hybrid (Remote flexibility may be considered for the right candidate) About the Opportunity We are actively recruiting for a Finance & Planning Manager to support a leading plywood manufacturing facility in Emerson, Arkansas. This role serves as a key business partner to mill leadership, driving financial performance, strengthening operational discipline, and supporting long-term value creation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing finance background, with experience in wood products preferred, particularly within a plywood mill environment. This individual will translate operational performance into actionable financial insights while ensuring effective financial processes, controls, and governance. This position is designed to maintain a close connection to on-site operations, requiring strong relationships with mill leadership and active participation in business decision-making. While hybrid flexibility is available, candidates must be committed to maintaining strong engagement with the facility, including on-site presence at least once per quarter if working remotely. Key Responsibilities Assume accountability for all financial aspects of the manufacturing site Oversee and execute internal control processes while providing training and guidance to business partners Lead all month-end closing activities and financial reporting functions Support and promote the Operational Excellence culture through financial analysis and operational partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to mill leadership, providing strategic financial guidance and coaching Train and mentor key leaders on financial performance, metrics, and business drivers Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable business insights Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives Own the capital management process, ensuring accurate financial justifications and adherence to project deadlines Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and monthly forecasts Support the annual strategic planning and roadmap process Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and accounting teams
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5 years of progressive financial experience Experience supporting manufacturing operations and financial management Strong understanding of cost accounting principles Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with financial systems (SAP preferred) Strong communication, consulting, interpersonal, and influencing skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint Adaptable problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
