Job Description
Interim Technical Accounting Manager or Senior Manager Our client, a high-growth organization, is seeking an Interim Technical Accounting Manager to support complex accounting areas during a transition period. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in San Jose, CA. Remote candidates will be considered; however, PST working hours are required. This engagement is expected to last 2-3 months.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical accounting analysis for complex transactions and prepare formal accounting memos under applicable standards Provide guidance to the finance and accounting teams on accounting policies and their interpretation Oversee stock-based compensation accounting, including review of expense recognition and related journal entries Perform and review equity reconciliations and ensure alignment between systems and the general ledger Support monthly and quarterly close processes related to technical accounting and equity areas Partner cross-functionally with finance, legal, and HR teams on equity activity, valuations, and new programs Review the work of team members while maintaining a hands-on individual contributor role Support transition activities, including knowledge transfer and maintaining operational continuity Identify and address issues in accounting processes and ensure the accuracy of reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on technical accounting Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including stock-based compensation and complex transaction accounting Experience preparing technical accounting memos and position papers Hands-on experience with equity accounting and reconciliations Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, evolving environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience working with accounting and financial systems
