Hybrid (2 remote days per week) We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Analyst to join a growing manufacturing organization in Houston, Texas. This role will play a key part in leading the implementation and optimization of a new costing system while partnering closely with plant operations and finance leadership to improve cost visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, advanced analytical capabilities, and experience managing projects from initiation through implementation. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and ongoing support of a manufacturing costing system within the ERP environment Partner with plant leadership to provide financial analysis and operational decision support Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, labor, overhead, and inventory trends to improve profitability and reporting accuracy Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities Monitor and analyze work-in-process (WIP), production expenses, and operational performance metrics Develop and maintain costing standards and support annual and ad-hoc cost roll exercises Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting for leadership Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, and finance teams to improve processes and drive efficiencies Assist with SOX compliance activities, reconciliations, and internal controls Influence stakeholders and support adoption of new costing processes and systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of manufacturing process costing, inventory, WIP, and variance analysis Advanced Excel skills required Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, Hyperion, or SmartView is highly preferred Proven ability to lead projects from start to finish Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Additional Information Hybrid work schedule available Limited domestic travel to manufacturing facilities may be required Opportunity for future leadership growth as the organization expands •Please note that assignment durations, pay rates, and job duties are subject to our Client's business needs and project requirements. •We may use artificial intelligence tools to help our recruiters screen and assess talent.
