Job Description

Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail oriented, organized, and analytical person to work with our Finance Manager and the accounting team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in all accounting and finance tasks and policies to ensure books accurately reflect the terminal activity, in compliance with reporting standards including, but not limited to, GAAP and IFRS; supervising accounting staff and providing management with financials reports.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures all the terminal activity is recorded for both Account Receivable, and Account Payable, creates all necessary entries, maintains General Ledger, Chart of account, fixed assets, and other schedules accurately and is in compliance with reporting standard including, but not limited to, GAAP and IFRS. Assist with tax filing and government regulation, including but not limited to, maintaining archive for IRS audit. Ensures month-end / year-end closing and produces financials statement, assists with year-end external audit. Plans, coordinates, supervises, and provides guidance for the accounting clerks and supervisors to perform their tasks efficiently. Works with Human Resources on personnel matters, included but not limited to company policies, equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment prevention and employee conflict resolution. Closely monitor AR collections and actively resolve disputes with customers with the assistance of the accounting team so payment is collected from customers within their terms. Checks documentation and approves new vendor creation in the accounting software. If authorized, checks, approves, and releases vendor's payment within their terms. Provides, checks, and approves various reports including, but not limited to, bank reconciliation, revenue per customer, billing reconciliation with the terminal, aging AR, aging AP, borrowing base. Maintain and update all necessary company documents or reports [checklist]. Assist with budget preparation, monitoring performances against budget in coordination with Financial Planning Analyst and Finance Manager. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversee work of the accounting clerks and supervisors.Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret financial statements from an accounting perspective Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or 5 years qualifying experience in the field of accounting/finance Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (preferred), VBA is a plus Marine terminal / logistic knowledge is a plus Ability to lift and carry up to 50 (fifty) pounds occasionally Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the work environment Why Should you Apply?
