Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee financial operations in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves preparing accurate financial statements, managing a small accounting team, and ensuring compliance with established accounting principles. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Manage and approve both manual and automated journal entries to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Supervise and mentor a team accounting professionals while overseeing daily accounting operations.
• Collaborate with the Controller on financial reporting initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc analyses.
• Conduct thorough reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and documenting findings.
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Handle additional accounting tasks and participate in special projects as assigned. Requirements
• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and conducting audits.
• Strong experience with account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
• Advanced knowledge of journal entry preparation and approval.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with senior management and cross-functional teams.
