The role offers a blend of daily transaction responsibilities along with opportunities to work on special projects. It's a great chance to develop interpersonal skills by collaborating with various groups within TVA Finance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, General Ledger team, corporate finance, corporate credit, and revenue billing. Professionalism is key, especially when interacting with external stakeholders such as customers and banking partners. In addition, the candidate will support work that contributes to the integrity of TVA's financial statements and a sound SOX control environment. Position Purpose This position is a Financial Services developmental role in which the incumbent may rotate among various financial services functional areas within FO&P, COA, EP, CES and Treasury. Incumbent will develop an understanding of the assigned business unit, both as it relates to its functional purpose and as it relates to its financial challenges. In a developmental capacity, the incumbent will learn FS standard work, strategies, philosophies, programs, and initiatives within the organization. Principal Accountabilities While in this professional, developmental role, the incumbent may rotate through various FS functional areas and/or business units and is expected to carry out the following duties: Become familiar with the TVA business, organization, key decision makers, FS processes and procedures. Incumbent will begin interacting with the FS leaders and team members while learning the key components that drive FS strategic direction. Develops working knowledge of critical FS functions including: finance & accounting; business planning; enterprise planning; portfolio management; treasury and commercial energy solutions. Learns to apply policies and procedures across the organizations; to recommend continuous improvement changes in support of business needs, and to proactively develop understanding of policies, procedures, and culture and communicate these to new and existing employees. Focuses on personal development and takes ownership in staying current in latest FS best-practices. Implement functions that effectively strengthen the TVA and customer partnership. Minimum Requirements Education - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, marketing, analytics, business, engineering, or related degree. Experience - An internship, or comparable experience, in a financial services delivery function is desirable. Certification/License, etc — CPA, advanced finance degree is desirable but not required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Ability to develop best in class consultation, facilitation, negotiation, influence, and customer service skills. Understands competitive challenges as well as the financial services value proposition and is capable of developing the ability to identify key financial services strategies to complement organizational strategy. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions. Must be able to travel to different TVA locations.
