Position OverviewLead and optimize end-to-end mortgage operations, ensuring timely, compliant loan origination, closing, delivery and servicing across retail, wholesale and correspondent channels. The Mortgage Operations Manager will partner with secondary marketing, capital markets and risk teams to manage pipeline hedging, investor delivery and profitability, while building scalable processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering best-in-class operational performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily mortgage operations including loan origination, underwriting support, closing & funding, investor delivery, and loan servicing activities across retail, wholesale and correspondent channels.

Manage secondary marketing and capital markets coordination: pipeline hedging, interest rate risk management, loan pricing, whole loan sales and MBS executions.

Ensure accurate investor delivery, reporting and reconciliation for agency and non-agency investors (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae, jumbo investors and others).Drive compliance with federal and state mortgage regulations (TILA/RESPA/TRID, HMDA, ECOA, SAFE Act, CFPB requirements), maintain NMLS/state licensing oversight and support regulatory exams.

Implement and maintain quality control, audit programs and loss mitigation/foreclosure workflows to minimize operational and credit risk.

Partner with underwriting to optimize automated underwriting (DU, AUS) and credit analysis processes, including construction lending and non-standard product overlays.

Own LOS integrations and vendor relationships (Calyx, Ellie Mae/Encompass, Loansphere and other third-party providers), including vendor selection, SLAs and performance management.

Lead digital mortgage initiatives (eClosing, eSign, DocuSign), CRM integrations (Salesforce) and initiatives that improve borrower experience and throughput.

Develop and maintain financial models, P&L management, budgeting and forecasting for operations and pipeline management.

Use data and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) to create operational dashboards, regulatory reporting and drive continuous improvement.

Create and execute process improvement and risk mitigation programs (Lean Six Sigma principles) to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times and defects.

Manage, coach and develop cross-functional teams, set KPIs, and ensure staffing and training align to business objectives.

Coordinate anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention and data governance activities with compliance and legal teams.

Serve as primary liaison to investor & counterparty relations and support securitization, whole loan sales and investor negotiations.

QualificationsBachelors degree in finance, business, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., MBA, CAMS) preferred.

Minimum 5+ years of progressive mortgage operations experience with demonstrated leadership in loan origination, servicing and secondary markets.

Deep knowledge of mortgage products and programs including agency (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae), Ginnie Mae, FHA/VA/USDA, jumbo loans, HELOCs and securitization.

Hands-on experience with loan origination systems and vendor platforms (Encompass/Ellie Mae, Calyx, Loansphere) and CRM tools (Salesforce).Experience with automated underwriting systems (DU/AUS), FICO scoring, appraisal/AVM valuation processes and underwriting credit analysis.

Proven experience in secondary marketing, pipeline hedging, interest rate risk management, loan pricing, whole loan sales and MBS execution.

Strong regulatory and compliance background (TILA/RESPA/TRID, HMDA, ECOA, SAFE Act, CFPB) and demonstrated success supporting exams and audits.

Skilled in financial modeling, ALM fundamentals, P&L management, budgeting and forecasting using Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).Experience with AML, fraud prevention, loss mitigation, foreclosure processes and vendor management.

Track record of driving process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and implementing digital mortgage/eClosing initiatives.

Excellent leadership, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills; experience liaising with investors, counterparties and senior management.

Active NMLS registration or ability to obtain and maintain required state licensing preferred.
