Job Description

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA mission-driven nonprofit organization in the North Dallas area is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to support day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, reporting, and team oversight functions. This position will work closely with leadership and assist with month-end processes, donation tracking, audit support, and financial operations in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Manage accounts payable and process vendor payments
  • Review and book credit card activity, wires, ACH transactions, donations, and disbursements
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and team reconciliations
  • Support month-end close and trial balance review processes
  • Assist with donation tracking and nonprofit-related accounting transactions
  • Review fundraising and bank reconciliations prepared by support staff
  • Prepare audit schedules and support annual audit processes
  • Assist with 1099 preparation, sales tax filings, and year-end accruals
  • Track insurance payments and maintain related accounting documentation
  • Review general ledger activity for coding accuracy and discrepancies
  • Support leadership meetings, board reporting, and additional accounting projects as needed
  • Provide oversight and review of Accounting Assistant work product
  • Maintain strong communication with internal departments and leadership teams
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required
  • Background in reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting required
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Previous nonprofit accounting experience a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Candidates with Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant backgrounds will be considered
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay Details:
