Job Description
Overview A leading real estate private equity firm is seeking a Managing Director of Capital Formation to help lead fundraising and investor engagement efforts across its platform. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the firm's capital raising strategy, expanding institutional relationships, and driving growth across commingled funds, separate accounts, and co-investment vehicles. This is a senior, externally facing role requiring a deep network of institutional investors and a track record of successfully raising capital across real estate strategies. Key Responsibilities Assist in all aspects of capital formation, including fundraising strategy, execution, and investor coverage Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors including pensions, endowments, foundations, consultants, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds Drive capital raising efforts across various vehicles (closed-end funds, open-end funds, SMAs, and co-investments) Partner closely with senior leadership, acquisitions, and portfolio management teams to articulate investment strategy and performance Oversee investor communications, including pitch materials, due diligence processes, and ongoing reporting Represent the firm at industry conferences, investor meetings, and global roadshows Build and mentor a growing investor relations and capital raising team Qualifications 10-15+ years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, or distribution within real estate private equity or alternative asset management Demonstrated track record of raising significant institutional capital (multi-billion aggregate preferred) Deep existing network of LP relationships across North America (global relationships a plus) Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies (core, core+, value-add, opportunistic, and/or niche sectors) Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills Proven ability to operate at the senior leadership level and influence firm strategy
