  • 5:00 PM Industry accounting & auditing (Business and Financial Operations Occupations) Reference number S_175680 Job details Spherion is seeking a General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our client's team.
The Accounting Manager will manage and oversee the general ledger accounting functions, and assist with the preparation and review of company financial statements.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general ledger accounting processes and journal entries while developing accounting staff through guidance, support and performance feedback.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, and key account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly allocation and accrual calculations.
  • Prepare and review required year-end accruals and adjustments.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for the consolidated company and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with Controller and other departments to develop internal controls over accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ensure bank covenant requirements are met and reported monthly according to required terms.
  • Assist with the tracking and monitoring of inventory status and funds availability for inventory transactions.
  • Help to develop and maintain internal controls over accounting and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit process by gathering required documentation.
  • Assist management with the hiring and training of new department staff.
  • Partner with Controller and Human Resources to implement employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Education:
Bachelors Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor???s Degree in Business (preferably accounting or finance).
  • Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two (2) to three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proficient in the use of some accounting software and financial ERP system.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced growth environment.
