Job Description:
A well-established, privately held manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accounting Supervisor/Plant Controller to lead all financial operations for its facility. This role reports into senior finance leadership and serves as a key business partner to plant operations, driving cost visibility, operational efficiency, and financial discipline across the site. Why This Opportunity Stands Out True ownership of the plant P&L Direct partnership with operations and executive leadership High-impact role with visibility across the business Open due to growth and leadership need at the plant What You'll Do Own all plant-level financials, including P&L, inventory, and COGS Lead standard costing, cost roll-ups, and variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead, yield) Oversee inventory accounting , including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Drive accurate accounting for batch production, yield, scrap, and spoilage Lead month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Partner closely with plant leadership to deliver actionable financial insights Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development for the plant Manage and develop a small accounting team What They're Looking For CPA required 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, cost, etc. Proven experience owning a full P&L at the plant or business unit level Strong background in standard costing and Bill of Materials (BOMs) Deep understanding of inventory, COGS, and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting
