This pivotal role involves overseeing a comprehensive range of accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, regulatory reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and a passion for mentoring team members. As an Accounting Manager, you will drive financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management to support our organizational goals and growth initiatives. Duties Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis Oversee company payroll, ensuring timliness and accuracy Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness Supervise internal controls related to compliance and support external/internal audits through detailed audit trail documentation Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence in areas like governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and securities law Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making Ensure timely regulatory reporting, tax compliance, and accurate financial report writing for diverse stakeholders Strong communication skills are mandatory This position reports directly to the Executive team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred Knowledge in the use of Quickbooks and ADP preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred Prior experience in the Accounts Receivable Management industry is a plus, but not required Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong foundation in GAAP principles and technical accounting standards Proven expertise in financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation, journal entries, and accrual accounting Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring teams Demonstrated ability managing multiple priorities effectively Proficiency in Financial Statements analysis and preparation, including P&L and balance sheet Strong analytical skills to assess data and provide insights Excellent organizational and time management abilities Must be willing to work onsite in Houston (77067),
Monday-Friday Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
