Job DescriptionJob Description Healthconnect Texas is seeking an experienced Finance Manager who is CPA-eligible or CPA-certified to join our finance team. This is an in-person role with a clear growth path into the Controller position. The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit accounting experience, a broad financial reporting skill set, and a working knowledge of Texas HR and employment laws as they work closely with the company PEO. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will initially work alongside one Staff Accountant, with the expectation of assuming supervisory responsibility as the role evolves. Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Assist with and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Understand and apply ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Understand and manage month end journal entries Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close Assist with annual audits, IRS Form 990 preparation, and grant reporting Support budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls Streamline payment process for all AP Oversee expense reporting for employees Leadership & Supervision Provide guidance and mentorship to a Staff Accountant Gradually assume supervisory responsibilities as the role progresses toward Controller Assist in developing and improving accounting policies and procedures HR & Compliance Support Support payroll oversight and benefits administration in coordination with company PEO and leadership Assist with compliance related to employee classifications, wage and hour laws, and required filings Strategic & Operational Support Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, process improvement, and organizational growth Provide KPIs for leadership and internal teams Provide financial insights to leadership to support decision-making Assist with special projects and system improvements as needed Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA-eligible or CPA-certified 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit experience strongly preferred). However, our financials are strongly modeled similar to for-profit reporting Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience working in a small or growing organization with broad responsibilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in an in-person team environment Required in-office position with hybrid model.
