Controller - Manufacturing industry Job Summary Our client is a small manufacturing company and is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager or Senior Cost Accountant. The successful candidate will manage the company's financial operations and report to holding company. Following are detailed responsibilities and duties. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Monitor and analyze financial performance, including job costing and variance analysis, develop reports, and provide recommendations to improve performance Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations Make recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and cost-effectiveness Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare and review budgets inclusive of capital expenditures and ROI's Oversee payroll and tax compliance Collaborate with external auditors and other stakeholders Filing Sales Tax Returns Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, cost, and general accounting Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting regulations Proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks), databases, and spreadsheets Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks Highly organized and detail-oriented Strong leadership and team management skills CMA Preferred
