This role will be responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting processes, and compliance requirements while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in a public company environment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving organization. This position will play a key role in supporting financial close activities, SEC reporting, internal controls, and strategic finance initiatives. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Analyze financial results and provide explanations for variances and trends. Oversee general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Public Company Compliance Support SEC reporting requirements, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other regulatory filings. Assist with implementation and maintenance of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits. Stay current on accounting pronouncements and regulatory changes affecting public companies. Cash Management & Banking Oversee banking relationships and treasury-related activities. Monitor cash balances, cash forecasting, and liquidity reporting. Review and approve wire transfers, ACH transactions, and banking reconciliations. Support debt compliance and lender reporting requirements. Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Executive Leadership. Financial Analysis & Support Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and special projects as needed. Prepare management reports and presentations for executive leadership. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience managing banking relationships and cash management activities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred CPA designation strongly preferred. Public accounting experience (Big Four or regional firm) preferred. Experience working for a publicly traded company or supporting SEC reporting. Experience with IPO readiness or post-IPO environments. Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
