ABOUT US
Frontier Property Management oversees a portfolio of 200+ residential and commercial properties across Ellis County and surrounding areas, including single-family homes, duplexes, and mixed-use assets. Our affiliated brokerage, RE/MAX Frontier, is an independently owned RE/MAX franchise serving the greater Midlothian market. We're a growing, owner-operated team where accuracy, discretion, and initiative are valued above all.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We're hiring an Accounting Manager to own the full financial operations across both our property management company and real estate brokerage. Reporting directly to ownership and working alongside our property manager and real estate admin, you'll manage high-volume owner disbursements, brokerage commission accounting, payroll, and QuickBooks reconciliation across two entities. This is a foundational role in our organization — the right person will have significant autonomy and ownership over our financial processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Property Management Process monthly owner disbursements across 200+ managed properties Track, categorize, and reconcile property-level income and expenses Generate owner statements and financial reports in Yardi Breeze Premier Manage accounts payable and receivable for the PM company Coordinate with the property manager on maintenance invoices, vendor payments, and expense coding Flag delinquencies, expense variances, and disbursement discrepancies to ownership Brokerage Process and authorize agent commission disbursements for RE/MAX Frontier Maintain commission records and transaction-level accounting Manage brokerage accounts payable and receivable Ensure compliance with RE/MAX franchise financial reporting requirements Both Entities Perform monthly QuickBooks reconciliations across all accounts Run payroll for all staff across both companies Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and manage 1099 preparation at year-end Assist with budget tracking and month-end/year-end close Provide ownership with regular financial snapshots and reports
QUALIFICATIONS 2-5
years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or a multi-entity small business environment Yardi Breeze Premier (or similar PM software) experience strongly preferred QuickBooks Online or Desktop proficiency required Back Office experience a plus Experience with trust accounting, owner disbursements, or brokerage commission accounting a strong plus Payroll processing experience (Gusto, ADP, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar) Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong organizational and deadline management skills Discreet and professional — this role carries significant access to confidential financial, owner, and agent information Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred — relevant experience considered $1,000 quarterly bonus for financial audit accuracy at 96% accurate or above.
