$100,000-$150,000+ DOE (competitive package for the right candidate) About the Opportunity A growing and well-established manufacturing company in Odessa is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to build and lead the accounting function during an exciting phase of expansion. This is a high-impact role for an accounting professional who wants to help shape financial processes, support operational growth, and become a key business partner to leadership. The company is investing heavily in its future, including the development of a new facility, and is looking for a hands-on accounting leader who can establish strong financial controls and provide meaningful business insights. Position Summary The Accounting Manager / Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This individual will work closely with leadership and external accounting advisors while taking ownership of the day-to-day accounting function. Candidates with strong accounting fundamentals who are eager to develop expertise in manufacturing accounting are encouraged to apply. External consultants currently support the organization and will assist with onboarding and knowledge transfer. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee reconciliations Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and consultants Support inventory accounting processes and reporting Analyze cost of sales and manufacturing-related financial metrics Assist leadership with strategic financial planning and decision-making Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong accounting and financial reporting experience Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and build processes in a growing environment Preferred Manufacturing industry experience Inventory accounting experience Cost accounting and cost of sales analysis experience CPA designation or CPA-track candidate Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems What We're Looking For This role is ideal for: An experienced Controller or Accounting Manager from a manufacturing environment A Senior Accountant ready to step into a leadership role A strong accounting professional who wants to learn the manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting side of the business with support from experienced advisors Why Consider This Opportunity?
