Since 1996, C2 Essentials has helped businesses grow by providing HR, payroll, benefits, compliance, and financial support services. We partner with organizations across the country, including federal contractors and professional services firms, serving as a trusted advisor and extension of our clients' internal teams. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of client companies. This role combines financial reporting, client advisory services, compliance oversight, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple client relationships while ensuring accurate financial reporting and delivering strategic financial guidance. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting functions for multiple client entities across various industries Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with
U.S. GAAP
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing guidance on financial management, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and operational decision-making Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, payroll tax filings, business registrations, and regulatory reporting Support government contracting clients with financial compliance, indirect rate calculations, cost allocations, DCAA audit support, and FAR/CAS-related requirements Coordinate with external auditors, CPAs, tax advisors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures Mentor accounting staff and support process improvement initiatives Assist with special projects, financial analysis, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting Experience managing full-cycle accounting functions and preparing financial statements Working knowledge of payroll tax compliance, sales tax compliance, and business registrations Familiarity with federal government contracting requirements, including FAR, DCAA, and indirect cost structures Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems Strong analytical, organizational, and client relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment Preferred Qualifications CPA designation or CPA candidate Experience in public accounting, Client Accounting Services (CAS), outsourced accounting, or advisory services Experience supporting federal contractors Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or other ERP systems Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) C2 Essentials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
