Fairfax, VA (Hybrid/Office as needed) Position Summary First Heritage Mortgage is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Product Manager to join our growing Capital Markets team. This role is responsible for managing the company's mortgage product offerings, ensuring our Loan Officers and Loan Officer Assistants have the most up-to-date, accurate, and competitive product information to succeed in the market. The Mortgage Product Manager serves as the primary expert on all mortgage products and programs, acting as the bridge between investors, internal Capital Markets teams, and the sales organization. You will manage product communications, maintain critical sales tools (bulletins, cheat sheets, matrices), and provide high-quality product support to drive loan volume and competitiveness. Key Responsibilities Product Communications & Investor Updates Monitor and interpret all investor product announcements, guideline changes, and program updates. Communicate product changes clearly and efficiently to Loan Officers, Loan Officer Assistants, Operations, and other internal stakeholders. Create and distribute timely product bulletins, alerts, and summaries. Product Tools & Resources Management Develop, maintain, and continuously improve key sales enablement tools, including: Product bulletins and announcements Product cheat sheets Product comparison matrices Program guidelines and eligibility grids Ensure all product documentation is accurate, well-organized, and easily accessible to the sales team. Product Support & Consultation Serve as the go-to expert for product-related questions from Loan Officers and Loan Officer Assistants. Provide clear guidance on product eligibility, overlays, unique program features, and complex scenarios. Collaborate with the PPE & Lock Desk team to ensure new or updated products are properly configured in Optimal Blue. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Secondary Marketing, PPE & Lock Desk, and Operations teams to align product strategy with pricing, hedging, and operational capabilities. Support the launch of new products and programs. Provide feedback to investors and internal teams on product performance and market needs. Assist in the development of product strategy and roadmap in partnership with Capital Markets leadership. Process & Continuous Improvement Maintain a comprehensive product knowledge base and repository. Identify opportunities to improve product communication, training, and sales support processes. Participate in regular product training sessions for sales and operations staff. Qualifications 4+ years of mortgage experience, with strong knowledge of mortgage products, investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, etc.), and program eligibility. Previous experience in Product Management, Secondary Marketing, Underwriting, or Sales Support in a mortgage lending environment is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex guidelines into clear, actionable information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience creating comparison matrices and cheat sheets is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Collaborative mindset with a customer-service orientation toward the sales team.
