Job Description BAE Systems is a leading global defense, security, and aerospace company. Our Maritime Solutions Business Unit is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team. As a Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our maritime programs by monitoring and controlling costs, schedules, and performance. As the Finance Manager you will be leading a team of program finance/control analysts.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our Maritime Solutions Norfolk business. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling program costs, schedules, and performance to ensure compliance with negotiated contract parameters and government cost control guidelines. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. In today's fast-paced and dynamic market environment, the ability to adapt, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively is crucial for success. As a Finance Manager, you will be working with diverse stakeholders, navigating complex program requirements, and driving business outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Utilize customized internal EVMS methodologies to develop baselines, monitor and control program costs and schedule to achieve business and customer objectives Ensure we provide value to our Government and commercial customers to drive program performance to exceed expectations Prepare programmatic baselines and perform monthly/weekly financial analyses such as variance analysis to identify and mitigate cost and scheduling risks Develop and maintain program plans to ensure program requirements and statements of work are strictly adhered to Work with scheduling/planning team to conduct detailed schedule risk assessments; identifying and mitigating program scheduling risks Collaborate with program managers, ship superintendents, craft managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate scope execution and adherence to strict budgets in a fast-paced environment Provide insightful recommendations to program management to drive data-based decision making; become a full scale business partner Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation, including program Estimates at Completion (EAC), internal EVMS reporting, and program status reports Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Work experience considered in place of degree Minimum 8 years of experience in program finance / controls, or a related field, preferably in a defense or aerospace industry Proven track record of successfully managing program controls for large-scale defense or aerospace programs Proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and develop insightful recommendations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams Experience with government contract requirements and cost control guidelines Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Ability to make decisions with sound judgement while complying with policies and procedures Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Masters Degree or other professional certification a plus Experience in managing full EVMS programs a plus Proficiency in EVMS softwares a plus (Cobra, MPM, ForProject, SAP EVMS, etc.) Proficiency in program management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
$107952 - $183518 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
