Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a multi-entity hospitality environment in North Chesterfield, Virginia. This Long-term Contract position will oversee the integrity of financial activity, strengthen reconciliation processes, and help ensure tax and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate brings strong operational accounting experience, sound judgment, and the ability to guide teams through detailed financial reviews in a high-volume setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily flow of financial activity from hotel and property management platforms into the general ledger, confirming that entries are posted accurately and mapped to the proper accounts.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and guest ledger balances, partnering with hotel teams to investigate discrepancies, follow up on unpaid items, and maintain clean account records.
  • Examine incoming cash activity, including electronic payments, deposits, and card settlements, and resolve variances between source systems and accounting records without delay.
  • Evaluate monthly bank reconciliations, identify outstanding or unusual items, and implement corrections to keep cash records complete and reliable.
  • Analyze monthly profit and loss results to verify that revenue and expense activity is captured in the correct period and classified appropriately.
  • Complete recurring balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and support accurate month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Reconcile franchise-related receivables and payment activity, researching differences and recording adjustments to preserve accurate revenue reporting.
  • Prepare and review sales, occupancy, tourism, personal property, and real estate tax filings, while maintaining supporting schedules and reconciling related liability accounts.
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures tied to hotel operations, provide practical guidance to staff, and assist with documentation requested for tax preparation and audit support.
